  • Scott Tucker Racing and Level 5 take on 24 Hours of Le Mans

    Confirmation entry for Scott Tucker Racing and his Level 5 Motorsports team came on Thursday for the 80th 24 Hours of Le Mans. Tucker and his winning group will choose on the 24-hour French endurance race. The confirmation was awarded from the Car Club de l’Ouest.

    Tucker and his regular team driver, Christophe Bouchut will just take out the No. 33 Honda Performance Improvement ARX-03b in the 24 hour endurance race. Certainly one of two Honda powered LMP2 entries for the race this year. Level 5 will announce the other driver at a later date.

    Tucker of Leawood, KS who is actually a 5 times national driving champion and Degree 5 earned their invitation to Le Mans thanks to their triumph final year in the Petit Le Mans. They came in 6th location in general complete in the American Le Mans Series last. Tucker, Bouchut and Joao Barbosa took 5 victories with back-to-back titles in ALMS.

    “We’re rather proud of our past accomplishments and championships,” said Tucker. “Getting an invitation to Le Mans is some thing we have labored especially tough for and we’re honored and humbled at the exact same time in receiving it. We’re going to plan and function quite efficiently to represent USA in the best possible light on the world’s stage and are proud for being on the list of few American teams that competes within the highest level of sports car racing in the world.”

    This may be Tucker’s 3rd year at Le Mans where he shall be facing strong competitors in LMP2 class. Level 5 has two groups within the 18 entries for the race. Tucker was the highest placed driver last year and completed on the podium. They employed a Lola-Honda Coupe to take 3rd location final year; this year Degree 5 can have a brand new HPD ARX-03b for that hottest, longest endurance race.

    “We’re content to be returning to Le Mans this year in what we feel will likely be a competitive package with the brand new HPD ARX-03b,” team supervisor David Stone stated. “With the time we’ve had with these cars from final year, notably the Petit Le Mans, and what we’ll have between now and also the Le Mans Test Day and race, will only add to our likelihood of getting highly competitive and reliable. I’m pleased to hear there is a substantial area in LMP2 and it need to be a fantastic fight.”

    They are still working around the new HPD cars at Degree 5’s Madison, WI headquarters. They took delivery from the new ARX-03b chassis final week and anticipate among the new LMP2 cars to be ready to the race at Sebring International Raceway in less than a week.
